VISA REQUIREMENTS
Finland is a member of the European Union and Shengen. If you travel to Finland it is necessary for you to possess a valid passport - at least 6 months before the date of entering. In Finland you could enter without a visa by a short trip, not more than 90 days long, within 6 months.
The sum, which the conterminous organs want you to possess if they check your maintenance resources in the moment is 30 euros per person per day.
CUSTOMS REQUIREMENTS
Things and belongings for personal use are not declared if they are within reasonable limits.
2 liters wine or 2 liters champagne, 1 liter hard alcohol, 16 liters beer, 200 cigarettes, or 50 cigars, or 200 grams tobacco, 50 ml perfume, 250 ml toilette water, 100 grams tea, 500 grams coffee, 1 kg meat is allowed tax free.
Youths under 17 years of age are not allowed to import cigarettes and alcohol.
There are no limitations as regards the import and export of currency.
Forbidden is the import of drugs, radioactive substances with incendiary agents, firearms, explosives, medicine for a period of treatment over 3 months, pets if there is no vaccine certification, approved by the Finnish Ministry of agriculture.
Before the customs you should announce products and things, which are taxable, as well as products and things, for whose import restrictions are imposed - living animals and plants, firearms and ammunition and others.
In a case of import of a high quantity of medicines you should present a copy of a recipe or certification by the treating doctor that proves the illness, but not more than the quantity needed for three month treatment. For additional information: www.laakelaitos.fi
The import and export by travel to Finland of endangered species is forbidden without the permission of the Finnish Ministry of Environment. For the export of pictures, archeological things and others a special license is required.
If you enter in Finland not with a plane and if you stay less than 72 hours, you are not allowed to import alcohol.

CRIMINALITY
In Finland the level of criminality is low. The visitors are to take ordinary safety precautions.
SPECIAL DISEASES
There are no special diseases, which require obligatory vaccine either by short-term and long-term travel.
DANGERS
There are no zones with a high risk of natural calamities. In the spring there are floods only in Northern Finland, but they generally endanger agriculture.
