To enjoy the nature in Denmark and the views that it offers, you should conform to some requirements. Before setting off to anywhere you should know some things about the place you're going to. And what do we know about Denmark, except LEGO and the Andersen's fair tales?

The Kingdom of Denmark is located on Jutland peninsula and 406 islands, of which 97 are populated. It has borders with Germany and coastline with North Sea and Baltic Sea. The whole territory of the country is 43094 sq. km. (without Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Denmark is a flat country. The climate is the least extreme of the Scandinavian countries, but the country's close proximity to the sea means that the weather can change very quickly. The average temperatures in January are about 0 C, and in July - 15-16 C. The capital city is Copenhagen; other big cities are Odense, Aarchus, Aalburg. Denmark is a constitutional monarchy and since 1972 the queen is Margarette II. The tourism has a highly developed infrastructure; the country is visited by over 1.6 million tourists every year.

If you decide to travel to Denmark, here is some practical information that you should know before packing the baggage:

To travel to Denmark you should have a valid passport for at least 6 months after the date of your entering to the country and enough free pages. Denmark is a member of Shengen and the EU. Citizens of the EU may use a national identity card in lieu of their passport. No visa is required for visitors from the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand. The custom-house officers may ask you to show a document, proving the aim and the conditions of your trip. They have the right to ask you about the goal of the visitation and to require additional documents. By business trips it is recommended to have a traveling order and other firm documents. Children, younger than 18 years, who travel without their parents, must have a declaration (certified by notary) from both the parents, confirming their agreement for the trip.

Every foreigner by his entering at the territory of the country must have enough money for support for the time of his stay and for return. The estimate of the money is done for every individual case on the base of the economic status of the foreigner. There is a main sum that you should have at hand for every 24 hours - minimum 300 krones/ the respective equivalence in euro or a valid credit card. You must also certify that you have enough money to return or just to show your returning ticket.

Therefore:

1. If you are put up in a private home, you must have the following documents: a returning ticket, a written invitation in Danish or English (with pointet person for contact, phone number and address) from the host and about 50 euro per day (cash or an international credit card). Other option is the Danish citizen to guarantee your support for the time of your stay in Denmark.

2. By a business trip you have to show an invitation from a Danish firm with pointed person for contact, phone number and address, about 50 euro per day (cash or an international credit card) and a returning ticket.

3. If you are put up in a hostel or a hotel you have to show a returning ticket and about 90 euro per day (cash or an international credit card) or a voucher for paid night's lodgings.
